Brantford is a 403 city on the Grand River, half an hour west, with century homes near the downtown and the Laurier campus, post-war streets and fast-growing West Brant subdivisions.
Brantford's older neighbourhoods, Eagle Place, Holmedale and the streets around the downtown, have generous lots by Hamilton standards but the same detached garages and side paths, so the crane question still comes up. West Brant and the north end near Powerline Road are almost entirely new build with flat rear yards and easy gate access. Brantford draws its water from the Grand River and it behaves differently from Hamilton's lake water, so we set up water care for it, and rural lots toward Paris and Mount Pleasant are often on wells.
Brantford buyers are a mix of long-time trades and manufacturing families, parents who bought a house for a Laurier student instead of paying rent, commuters heading east on the 403 to Hamilton and Mississauga, and retirees on the golf course streets. Value sells: the J-275 floor clearance from $14,695, the Aquasolus The Calma at $13,995 with White Glove delivery, and the Nordic Retreat SE at $10,195 for a smaller yard. The Wayne Gretzky Parkway side of the city has the newest lots and the most swim spa interest.
